Day 43

The last post seems to have gone up on the 17th? So I am not sure which day this is. Nonetheless, This week was a 2 mile cardio and a back and biceps work out. Continuing to get the workout done first thing in the morning.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday!

Day 41

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well and is ready for the holiday season!  I know I am!

Worked hard at amping up the mileage and shaving seconds off my time this past week.  Ran 6-miles tonight at an eight minute pace.  Best I’ve done in a while.

I’m always a little slow on the pictures, but here’s one of me in the Santa 5K from a couple weeks back.  It was a great run, and I had a lot of fun, which is apparent in the big old smile on my face.

Happy holidays to you all!

Day 36, 38, 39

It’s been non stop traveling as my team and I make our way back across the country to good ‘ol NH.

Wednesday’s workout was two SURFSET classes which is core and balanced focused with a lot of strength training, pilates inspired, yoga inspired and cardio. It is a total body workout.

Friday’s workout was my first ever pilates workout with Sean Bartram in Indy. He trains racecar drivers, NFL Cheerleaders, Miss Universe contestants and many professional atheletes. He wanted to put the SurfSet team to work for, what he calls, “Pilates on Steroids”. I was skeptical having never taken one before but it was definitely true to its name and an unbelievable core workout. Abs are still sore.

Saturday was 6 demo classes, one of which being for the entire Colts Cheerleader team. I pushed that class hard and it was a lot of fun. I was also able to get a 5 mile run in.

Day 37

Its been a busy month and week.  It is crazy to think how quickly the New Year will be here.

I did a stationary bike and upper body work out.  Again, getting it done in the morning has been a nice transition as it is getting dark by 5 pm!  I can’t think of a better way to start the day.  I hope everyone finishes the week strong and has a great weekend.

Day 35

These Tuesdays seem to come so quickly! Class with Scott was from 6-7 this am. He worked our upper body with push ups; planks with a twist; mountain climbers; RDLs with weights and many more that seemed to make the hour fly by. We topped off the workout with a fast paced mile walk around the track. Not going to lie~my arms hurt tonight. I even had to ice my right arm as my old rotator cuff injury flared up a bit this evening.
Enough complaining!

I’m sure with the holidays right around the corner everyone is busy, busy, busy~ just like the magician on Frosty the Snowman says after Santa tells him he better be good! I’m trying hard to stay calm and focus on the needs of others more than my own right now. With that in mind, lets all stop and think about all those families who won’t be together this Christmas and thank them for their service!

Day 34

What’s up everybody?!  Hope everyone has been working hard and enjoying the holiday season!  I ran a 5K Santa run last Saturday and had an absolute blast.  The course was from Santa Monica to Venice here in beautiful sunny Southern California and was filled with all sorts of colorful characters in hats, costumes, and ugly Christmas sweaters.  I was about a minute off of my PR with a time of 23:17, but was still very happy with how speedy I was.  I attribute it to all the running and healthy living I’ve been doing.  There will be no added Christmas weight for me this year!

Keep working hard gang!  I know you are!

Day 33 – Bmore

It was a beautiful weekend here in Baltimore with temperatures in the mid 50s. This weekend Mike Kirby had an early morning workout at the local gym. He combined a lifting workout with a cardio workout. Afterwards he treated himself to a protein milkshake. He works hard for his protein milkshakes!!

We hope everyone has a great week. See you next week.

Day 30, 31, 32

What’s up everyone!

Been on the road quite a bit recently but we make due with what we got. An assorted collection of dips and squats on the RV as we went from Vancouver to Kansas City. Followed by a solid 6.5 mile run this morning through Leavenworth.

This place is sort of the learning center for the military. Many members come here when they return from deployment in order to further their education. Quite an honor to get a tour through this fort. Very cool to see the environment that the military people create for themselves on base.
