Day 93

Leg lifting workout at the gym with spinning and erging for cardio. Got some weird looks for  carrying around a 10 lb weight to keep upper body engaged during leg workout but whatever…got my swell on.

Speaking of looking swell, Sundays will be led by Mike Kirby (pictured left) and Drew Vogt straight out of  Baltimore. Very well rounded guys that will be adding some fun group activities to the blog.

Day 92:

I went to the Westwood Recreation center and did a 35 min slow aqua jogging session with a teammate from the SMTC. Some dynamic stretching and groin strength exercises as well.

Team Saturdays will be lead by yours truly. We want to spread the WAO365 Challenge team as much as possible so if anyone has an interest in taking Saturday, I would be more than willing to set that up. For now, I will be blogging about my workouts on saturday.

Day 91

Day 91 of the 365 Day Challenge was completed by a 45 minutes bike ride into Santa Monica. After finding out about a muscle tendon tear and calcium deposits in the groin area, I now have some information to start my recovery and rehabilitation back into the running world.

Fridays are the day of the week that separates the proverbial boys from men. After a long week of work, school, daily problems or all three, nothing jumpstarts the body like a good workout before enjoying yourself for the weekend. That’s why the Friday Team duo could possibly be one of my favorites. Emily Chiappetta, hailing from Racine, Wisconsin and a recent transfer to Minneapolis, Minnesota, is not a stranger to half or full marathons. Full of energy, fun, and creativity, the WAO365 Team is excited to hear all about Emily’s athletic endeavors.

The other half of the Friday team is the one and only Maxim Wilwerth. Based in NH currently at Plymouth State University, from hockey to soccer to just a very active slifestyle in general, we know that Max’s blog will give us all a good time.  Congrats to his recent Pond Hockey tournament win.

Day 90

I worked out at the International Sports Institute where a good portion of my physical therapy is being done for my groin. Hour long core session isolating and targeting weak muscle components.

The team leader for Thursdays is going to be lead by Dickinson ’11 grad Tim Rahauser. As a Varsity soccer player and sharp shooter for the intramural basketball league, this guy can cover a lot of athletic ground. Should be nice to get some workouts detailed from Ohio.

Day 89

30 min of Aqua jog on behalf of Day 89 of the 365 Day challenge.

Alex Karwoski will be leading the Wednesday workouts for the 365 Day challenge. As a Senior at Cornell University and a leader of the mens Varsity Heavyweight Crew team (yeah, he is a big boy), his workouts will add a different perspective of intensity and power not typically seen in running or any other sport. The WAO365 team looks forward to his blogs and wishes his team much success this Spring season. Go Big Red!

Day 88

Dan Sarsfield took advantage of the warmer weather out here in California and ran 7.44 miles right near the Rose Bowl on behalf of the 365 Day challenge.

Donna Karwoski and Lauren Weddleton will be co-blogging for the 365 Day challenge for Team Tuesday. The mother-daughter duo have run countless road races, triathlons, and have their super competitive husbands to keep them in shape and always challenging themselves. Excited to see what some of their workouts are like. Representing the opposite coast over in New Hampshire.

Also, extremely pumped for the Boston event on March 3rd. Check out the home page (Weareone365.org) for more details and ticket information. Definitely a worthwhile cause with great people if you are in the area during that time.

Day 87

First non running athletic purchase in quite some time. Swam for 60  minutes with my new goggles. WAO365 Day Challenge #87

Get ready for Derek Eby to start posting on Mondays! This Wisconsin native has run a few marathons in the past and just signed up for another one. An ex-coworker of mine in the NBC page program, Derek’s workouts are spontaneous in terms of what they will include but he is by far one of the most loyal people I know and will be joining all of you for all the coming Mondays. Stay posted on how you can join Derek, Team Monday and the 365 Day Challenge.

Day 86

Today’s workout was an interesting one. Went out for a 40 mile bike ride. I got about 13 miles out when I hit a pot hole and flattened my front tire. Walked 13 miles back to my apartment. Nonetheless, today was on behalf of WAO 365 day challenge.

Day 84

Worked out at 24 hour fitness for 2 hours on behalf of Day 84 of the 365 Challenge. Decided to bike, erg, and lift instead of swim today.
