Day 353

Today, my husband and I took advantage of the wonderful fall weather we have been having and went for a beautiful bike ride along the NH sea coast! It was great to get out on the bike again and get moving! Our days our certainly numbered so we are going to get out as much as possible before it gets too cold!
Also, the Granite Girls want to give a shout out to Nick, who will be leaving for the surf set fitness tour across the country this Thursday! He and the founders of surfset fitness will be traveling across the USA to promote their new fitness machine, while also encouraging health!! Hopefully our military families will be able to try it some day soon!!

Day 354

It has been unusually beautiful for this time of year in Ohio, Which has been a nice complement for the last week of our soccer season.  Enjoying the weather and scrimmaging, it has been great to coach and play. Today, as well as every day this week,  I played with the team.  We warmed up with a game called hand ball– basically a two hand touch version of Rugby, with a soccer ball.  After our warm up game, we split up into two teams and scrimmaged.  It was a great afternoon for soccer.

Day 353

It’s funny how some mornings I wake up shortly before my alarm goes off and others I hit that snooze button with a vengeance.  This morning was another one hour session with Scott.  Our first 15 minutes is always rolling out and hitting those areas that need some TLC before we turn to the weights.  Rolling out has become a favorite way to begin my sessions.

Speaking of tender spots~am sure all of the families out there who aren’t sure if their loved ones are safe walk around every day with a very tender heart.  So…… no complaining tomorrow when you feel those exercises you did the day before!  Suck it up!

xoxo The Granite Girls…..miss you Lauren 🙂

Day 352

Went out on the Cross-Country course today to do some 1200m intervals on the course. I was in charge of group three and they were excited…

Day 351

Hey gang!  Happy Monday!  Fourteen days until the old blog hits 365 Days!  And only six days until I run the Los Angeles Rock N’ Roll Mini Marathon!  It is only a 5k run, but I’ve been training hard and I feel good.

Tonight I ran the Beverly Hills Trail; a 4 mile jaunt up and back Santa Monica Boulevard.  It is one of my favorite LA runs, especially on a crisp Autumn night like tonight.  My personal best for a 5k was 18 minutes, so as long as I’m in that ballpark this Sunday, I’ll be a happy camper.

Next week I’ll let you know how the race went and offer up some reflections on the past 365 days of working out.  Until then, stay strong, keep pushing hard, and have a great week!

Day 350: Sunday in Baltimore

We hope everyone’s had a great week.  This morning, I took a 3 mile run around the inner harbor.  It remains one of my favorite routes in the city, and I hope to get a few more in before the weather gets too cold.

I also have a few pics from past weekends that came in today.  Below is a picture of Scott Kirby and Erich Raschid during the Baltimore Running Festival last week, wearing their O’s flavored WAO tees.

Lastly, here is a picture of Mary Jo and Jack Vogt hiking in Yellowstone National Park.

Enjoy the week.

Day 348

Aside

This week I extended my run a little and went out for a 3.5 mile run. It has been beautiful fall weather in Ohio and going running has been ideal.  Although I do not have pictures to post, WeAreOne365 workouts continue to be represented in Ohio

Day 347

Turned out to be a great day in Connecticut to get one more row on the Housatonic before the 4+ heads up to Boston for the Head of the Charles this weekend. I had them do a 1′ on/1′ off workout to prepare for the 5k.

Looking good…

Day 346

I am in sunny beautiful southern California for work this week and I am taking full advantage of the weather. This morning I got up and went for a 3 mile run to the football field, The Rose Bowl. It was the perfect temperature for a run and had a wonderful combination of hills and flat ground. At the end of the run I went up probably one of the steepest hills I have every run up!! Pretty much felt like I was going to die but With the Kelly Clarkson song, Stronger, playing in the background I made it up! Her words are very true!!
Thanks to all the men and woman out there who keep fighting and are stronger everyday for it!
