Day 89

30 min of Aqua jog on behalf of Day 89 of the 365 Day challenge.

Alex Karwoski will be leading the Wednesday workouts for the 365 Day challenge. As a Senior at Cornell University and a leader of the mens Varsity Heavyweight Crew team (yeah, he is a big boy), his workouts will add a different perspective of intensity and power not typically seen in running or any other sport. The WAO365 team looks forward to his blogs and wishes his team much success this Spring season. Go Big Red!

Day 88

Dan Sarsfield took advantage of the warmer weather out here in California and ran 7.44 miles right near the Rose Bowl on behalf of the 365 Day challenge.

Donna Karwoski and Lauren Weddleton will be co-blogging for the 365 Day challenge for Team Tuesday. The mother-daughter duo have run countless road races, triathlons, and have their super competitive husbands to keep them in shape and always challenging themselves. Excited to see what some of their workouts are like. Representing the opposite coast over in New Hampshire.

Also, extremely pumped for the Boston event on March 3rd. Check out the home page (Weareone365.org) for more details and ticket information. Definitely a worthwhile cause with great people if you are in the area during that time.

Day 87

First non running athletic purchase in quite some time. Swam for 60  minutes with my new goggles. WAO365 Day Challenge #87

Get ready for Derek Eby to start posting on Mondays! This Wisconsin native has run a few marathons in the past and just signed up for another one. An ex-coworker of mine in the NBC page program, Derek’s workouts are spontaneous in terms of what they will include but he is by far one of the most loyal people I know and will be joining all of you for all the coming Mondays. Stay posted on how you can join Derek, Team Monday and the 365 Day Challenge.

Day 86

Today’s workout was an interesting one. Went out for a 40 mile bike ride. I got about 13 miles out when I hit a pot hole and flattened my front tire. Walked 13 miles back to my apartment. Nonetheless, today was on behalf of WAO 365 day challenge.

Day 84

Worked out at 24 hour fitness for 2 hours on behalf of Day 84 of the 365 Challenge. Decided to bike, erg, and lift instead of swim today.

Team Leaders have been assigned to the new 365 day challenge. What team/day are you going to join?

Day 82: Back to working out

After about a 5 week hiatus from running, 8 doctors, 2 clinics, 3 chiropractors, MRI’s, leg scans, countless x-rays and a steroid shot, I’m back to working out. Not back to running just yet but getting in the gym and sweating feels awesome. Hopefully, the combination of the shot, strength training and cross training (biking, aqua jogging, swimming, spinning, erging, jump roping, etc), will allow me back to running in about a month and stronger than before…leaving me with 4 solid months of training for the trials. Can’t make any promises to how my groin will respond to the new workload but so far its been pretty good and I’m feeling stronger with only 4 days back into my new routine. With that said, I worked out today on behalf of the 365 Day Challenge.

45 minutes aqua jogging

25 minute swimming

5 sets of 2 min jump rope with 1 min ab in between

Leg lifting circuit (single leg quad and ham, abductors, leg press, calf press, lower back press, crunches, lower ab lifts, stability ball drills)

3 sets of jump rope

Mile on the eliptical

AR. NF. NR. I’m back in action…sort of.

Lots of exciting changes coming to the blog. Stay tuned…
