Day 364: Sunday in Baltimore

On Sunday, Mike Kirby completed a 3 mile run from Federal Hill over to Fells Point.  The route hugs the inner harbor and the weather was perfect.  Drew Vogt and Jack Vogt were also able to get a game of tennis in this weekend.

Team Baltimore is very excited that the We Are One challenge is completing its first full year, and are looking forward to taking part in year 2.

Enjoy the Week.

Day 350: Sunday in Baltimore

We hope everyone’s had a great week.  This morning, I took a 3 mile run around the inner harbor.  It remains one of my favorite routes in the city, and I hope to get a few more in before the weather gets too cold.

I also have a few pics from past weekends that came in today.  Below is a picture of Scott Kirby and Erich Raschid during the Baltimore Running Festival last week, wearing their O’s flavored WAO tees.

Lastly, here is a picture of Mary Jo and Jack Vogt hiking in Yellowstone National Park.

Enjoy the week.

Day 337: One Week Till Baltimore Running Festival

With one week to go before the Baltimore Running Festival, several members of WAO put together nice workouts to finish the weekend.  Chris Diller completed a 6 mile run on Saturday morning, doing several loops around Fort McHenry.  This morning, Drew Vogt completed a 5 mile run from Federal Hill over to Harbor East and back.  Mike Kirby ran 6 miles on Saturday over to Fells Point, and completed a 3 mile run/3 mile bike on Sunday.

Below is a picture of Mike after his workout this morning.  Stay tuned next week as we expect to have close to a dozen We Are One 365 members running in the festival with their WAO gear.

Enjoy the Week,

Team Baltimore

Day 323: Team Baltimore 5K

On Sunday morning, several members of Team Baltimore headed North to Towson for “Susie’s Cause 5K Run/Walk.”  Proceeds from the race benefited the The Susan Cohan Colon Cancer Foundation, and over $20,000 was raised.  The first picture below is Mike Kirby, Chris Diller, Drew Vogt, and Brian Diller after the race.

Drew Vogt took first place in the 19-29 year age group, and the race was a perfect way to help Susie’s Cause and get in a great We Are One workout.

Many members of Team Baltimore have kept a strong training regiment to prepare for the upcoming Baltimore Running Festival in a few weeks.  We’ll keep you posted on some of our workouts and look forward to running the half marathon and 5k wearing our We Are One 365 gear.

Enjoy the week.

Day 308: Team Baltimore Getting it Done

I hope everyone’s had a great week.  It’s been a busy Saturday and Sunday, with Team Baltimore getting in their final training sessions before the Dewey Beach Triathlon this upcoming Saturday.  The race features a 1/2 mile ocean swim, 15 mile bike, and 3 mile run.  It is the third year in a row members of We Are One 365 have participated in the race and we are looking forward to running in our WAO gear this time around.

I had an excellent final weekend of preparation.  On Saturday, I completed a 2 mile run, followed by a 10 mile bike ride.  Today, I did a 5 mile around around the city by heading around M and T Bank Stadium, Camden Yards before making it over to the inner harbor for my regular loop.

Chris Diller and his younger brother Brian also participated in a 5k around the city with some family friends this morning.  Below is a picture from after the race.

And lastly, the Vogt family has been on the West Coast and visited Yosemite for parts of their trip.  Miles and miles of hiking led them to some pretty fantastic views.

Enjoy the rest of the week.  With over 10 We Are One members heading to Dewey for the Triathlon from Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York, we should have some great pics and stories to tell next Sunday.  See you then.

Day 294: Baltimore

Team Baltimore is preparing for a very busy fall.  In three short weeks, many of us will be heading East to Dewey Beach for the Annual Dewey Beach Sprint Triathlon.  The race features a 1/2 mile ocean swim, 15 mile bike, and 3 mile run.  We have a group of at least 10 representing the We Are One 365 Baltimore team and are very excited for the race.

Additionally, the Baltimore half marathon is this October and it looks like we have another strong group participating.  We will be sure to keep you posted on some of the training the members of team  Baltimore partake in.

A short weekend cut my workout short, but I was able to get in a 3 mile run around the Harbor.  Look for some swimming and longer runs in the next few weeks.

Additionally, here is a picture of Mollie Welsh and Sarah McColley in Maine from several weeks back.  They took a trip up North and were able to get a quick workout in before taking a boat ride in the afternoon.

Enjoy the Week,

Team Baltimore

Baltimore: Day 270

The Dewey Triathlon is just about a month away.  It’s crunch time for anyone looking to hit a specific time this year. Drew Vogt continued his training with a 3.5 mile run around Fort McHenry, followed up by a 30 minute bike ride at the Merritt.

I was in New Jersey on Sunday, and did a 2.5 mile run around the Robbinsville High School track.

Along with the Dewey Triathlon in September, Team Baltimore is also training for our third Baltimore Half Marathon in October.  We’re looking forward to supporting We Are One 365 at those events this year.

Enjoy the Week,

Team Baltimore

Day 258: Team Baltimore

The Vogt Family traveled to the Poconos this weekend, which offered a great opportunity to get a different workout in today.  It’s about time somebody besides WAO regular Erich Raschid put a hiking trip together.  Below are two pictures from the 2.5 hour hike at Jim Thorpe in Pennsylvania.  Drew and Megan Vogt are in the first picture, with Matt Vogt and his new puppy added in the second.

I spent part of the weekend in Delaware myself, and woke up to a nice 3 mile run among the chicken houses, corn and soybean fields that Milford is famous for.

Enjoy the week.

Day 246: Baltimore

It was a pretty quiet weekend around Baltimore, but I did manage to get my favorite 3 mile run around the harbor in this morning.  I also wanted to add 2 pics from our July 4th run, when many members of team Baltimore were in Dewey.  Pictured below is Mike Lupold, Ryan Farrell, Mike Kirby, Matt Mazza, and Gary Aghazarian.

The girls also went for a quick run on the fourth.  Below is Amelia Buchard, Sarah McColley, and Molly Kengor.

Let’s keep up the great work WAO.

Enjoy the Week,

Team Baltimore in Dewey

Several members of the Baltimore team are spending some time this week in Dewey Beach, Delaware. On Sunday, Ben Cole, Perry Menzies, Emily Parmenter, Matt Mazza and I did a 5 mile run from the South of Dewey up to Rehoboth Beach and back. The loop was beautiful to run around, as we hit the boardwalk and ran around Silver Lake on the return trip. We also finished the workout with a few sets of pull-ups and push-ups.

Chris Diller, Sarah McColley, and Kelly Welsh also got nice runs in on Sunday morning around Dewey, with Chris doing a beach run.

It’s always great running around Baltimore, but it is definitely a treat having the Atlantic Ocean on your left for a mile. We hope everyone enjoys the Fourth of July on Wednesday. It’s going to be a great morning to get a workout in before you relax in the afternoon.

Enjoy the week.

Side note: We also have over 10 people signed up for the Dewey Beach Triathlon in September.  Registration is almost full, so if you’d like to join us for a weekend in Dewey, sign up now.
