Day 268

Per usual, I’m picking up the slack of team Friday.. 🙂

I had a pretty standard night in my summer hockey league. Our team is now in 3rd place after our 4-3 victory tonight. I had a big night on the score sheet, with 11 penalty minutes, two goals and a misconduct. Hoping to win our final two games for a solid playoff spot. Keep up the good work.

Day 244

It’s Friday once again and Emily is nowhere to be found…So I guess I will just pull the weight of this dream teams work out on this lovely day.

NH weather has been beautiful as of late, lots of time for swimming and other outdoor activities. I enjoyed some sun today, but had to cut out early for my summer hockey league game. It was my second game of the season and also are teams first win! An easy 7-1 victory but a good workout since our bench was short 3 players. Always a great feeling to walk into a cold rink after a hot day like today, summer hockey might be my favorite time to play.

In bigger news. Big ups to Mr. Wednesday (Alex Karwoski) and the US team for their advancement to the finals at the 2012 World Rowing U23 Championships. Go get em’ big guy!

Stay sweet,

Day 223

Sorry for the delayed post, I know you’ve been on the edge of your seats waiting for team Fridays post.

Well, since it’s been 90+ degrees and humid as ever I decided to get a swim in. I’m not sure what the distance was but it was from shore out to a black marker (NH residents will understand) and back. Felt great to get in the water in the hot weather, I hope you all remained cool.

Enjoy,

Day 209

Hello all,

Hope everyone is starting their weekends off right. After a lot of rain it looks to be a nice weekend here in New Hampshire.

I enjoyed a match of doubles this afternoon with 3 of my closest lake friends. My partner and I got worked by his younger brother and teammate unfortunately, but we had a blast. We played a two hour set, ultimately losing 10 games to 8. My serve was garbage and I take full responsibility for the loss.

Great workout, great friends, great cause. (mediocre performance)

Cheers,

Max

Day 195

What a special weekend to be part of the WAO team. Please remember why you have a long weekend while you enjoy some outdoor activities with your friends and families.

Despite the rain, I was able to play in a pick up soccer game. The game lasted for about two hours with a 15 minute break in the middle. The numbers were down so it was an extra hard workout.  I followed up the game with some push up and crunches.

Big congrats to sAL Karwoski for graduating this weekend, hats off to you, big guy.

Have a fun and safe Memorial Day Weekend!

Day 181

Pretty crazy here with the last week of school, but it’s almost over.

I played a few hours worth of pick up hockey, it was a good skate, great on the lungs. It’s always a nice feeling when it’s so warm outside. I followed the skate with an hour of broomball, first time with that. It was quite the experience, lot’s of tumbles but a great work out. Lot’s of cardio!

Stay sweet,

Max

Day 153

Happy Friday,

Getting a little sick of that generic opening, but I can’t think of much else.

Since the weather was beautiful in New England today, I broke out the tennis racquet. I played quite a few times this week with my roommate KE, but today we put our friendship aside and played a few sets.

KE mopped the floor with me in both sets (6-2) and (6-4) but I blame his youth and my bad back on the results. Regardless it was all about the work out and love for the game.

Enjoy your weekend,

Maxim

Day 119

Happy Friday,

Hopefully your weekend has started off right. I really had to sweat out the toxins today if you’re picking up what I’m laying down.

Since the PSU hockey teams miracle run has come to an end, hockey hours are a lot more competitive nowadays. Skated in the noon hockey hour, pretty solid skate with a lot of talent there. Still suffering from a herniated disc in my lower back which bothers me while skating. I followed up the skate with a push up and crunches session. Never before this blog would I have done that, but I gotta have something to write about.

Should be getting some runs and other exercises in soon as my back heals, but for now, I’m keeping it casual with the Friday hockey hour.

Stay sweet,

Maxim

Day 105

Aside

Sorry about the technical difficulties I experienced on Friday afternoon, but don’t Hassel The Hoff, I go to State school.

(incase you didn’t get it)

It’s an honor to part of the WAO movement. I would first off like to pay my respects to a fallen hero. Les Smith was a member of the Marines but also a husband, a father, a friend and an inspiration. Les will be greatly missed by many.

Now to the fun stuff. I have been on the shelf for the past few weeks with a lingering hip injury, but I guyed up this week and laced up the skates. I participated in an open hockey hour. I took it pretty easy, but it felt nice to get my legs back and feel the cool air running through my body. Luckily the hip felt fine and I was able to skate a second time over the weekend. As my hip heals, I will be able to blog about more intense workouts. Thanks for having me, enjoy your week.
