Day 268

Per usual, I’m picking up the slack of team Friday.. 🙂

I had a pretty standard night in my summer hockey league. Our team is now in 3rd place after our 4-3 victory tonight. I had a big night on the score sheet, with 11 penalty minutes, two goals and a misconduct. Hoping to win our final two games for a solid playoff spot. Keep up the good work.

Day 267

I cannot beat a bike tour/workout in Amsterdam– Sounds fantastic! Hope you both are enjoying your time abroad and glad to see the workouts are continuing outside the United States.

Today I did 2.5 miles of interval training.  It was a great workout and managed to finish right before a rain storm came through.

In other news, it was just brought to my attention that an Alumni of the high school where I work was a contributing editor for the book In the Shadow of Greatness.  The book has just been published and I think it is worth passing along.  I have posted the link below for everyone to check out.

Day 268-biking in Amsterdam

Today my brother and I decided to put a little spin on the normal touristy thing. We wanted to take a tour of Amsterdam but knew we would be frustrated with the speed and amount of people. So we rented bikes and followed the bus around the city acting like we were just going for a bike ride and “overhearing” what the tour guide was saying. Biked around 16 miles on a leisure bike. With the 100/100 set. Definitely a day that will be paid for tomorrow. Keep the workouts going.

Day 267

Today I went for a 2.5 mile run with my husband around Portsmouth! We ran past our old house and through the downtown area… Such a cute place to live. 🙂
Tim is still recovering from his surgery and it is truly amazing to see how far he has come in the past 6 weeks. He’s doing FABULOUS!!!
We continue to train for our August 18th triathlon. Tim is planning on doing it!!
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and Everyday keeping in mind the men and women in the military fighting for us.

Day 266

Hey 365-ers, happy Monday!  Back to the working week!  I found myself chained to my desk this weekend, but I still tried to enjoy any moments of sunshine that I could.  I wish I were basking in the European sun with the Karwoski brothers, but it is hard to complain too much with temperatures as nice as they have been here in Los Angeles.

Speaking of the Karwoski’s, after reading Team Friday’s post, I decided to give Nick’s challenge a try.  He proposed to make it a point to, twice a day, do 100 push-ups and 100 sit-ups of any kind.  I cut my goal in half, doing 50 of each set, but challenging myself in this way proved to be a great way to keep on task.  As I’m sure you’ve all realized by now, I only stay motivated when I have something to train for or a deadline to meet, and this has served as a perfect daily target.

So I’ll second Team Friday’s challenge; if you’re not already, try to get in at least two sets of 50 push up’s and sit ups each day, even if that is all you do.  I did my 50 of each this morning before work, I’ve gotta go do 50 more!

Catch you all next week.  Enjoy the end of the Olympics!

Day 265 – Baltimore Beach

Inspired by the Olympics, the members of team Baltimore took to the volleyball courts this weekend. There are some great beach volleyball courts at Rash Field at the inner harbor in Baltimore, where we played some pickup 4 v 4.

Later many members of team Baltimore headed up to Hereford, where we played some backyard volleyball. We had a 2 v 2 tournament where Graham Becker and myself beat up on the other teams of Dan Valerino/Jon Pugh, and Jason Cimino/Scott Kirby.

It was a fun filled, activity packed weekend!

Have a great week! Go USA!!

Day 264-working off the wine

A gorgeous August day in Tuscany. Alex and I, joining our new friends the Grossmans, had an early start to our day. Lots of cities to see and much more food to eat. But first, need to work off the wine.

20 min on the bike (next to my brother so you know it became a race)

4 sets of 50 abs (leg ups, knee to chest on ball, ball push ups, v-ups)

3×15 dips and bicep curls

3×15 leg press

2×10 Dumbbell snatches

3×10 tricep dips and t-push ups

Probably worked off one of the glasses of wine. Ha!

Keep up the great work. If your finding a hard time to work out, getting a buddy to go with you makes all the difference. Thats what 365 is all about.

Day 263

Sub-ing for Team Friday. Quite an unbelievable group of Americans that my brother and I have been lucky enough to spend some time with during the early part of of euro travels. Really makes you feel proud to be an American and to know that there are a lot of wonderful people that care so much about certain causes especially when it comes to the safety of our own troops and their families.

I went for a 3 mile run on this old dirt road. I was forced to pick my pace up when the deer, wild boars and giant lizard refused to get out of my way.
Alex joined me for a set of 100/100 push ups and sit ups.

If you havnt started it already, I strongly encourage you to. Twice a day, get 100 push ups in and 100 sit ups of any kind. Even if it’s all you do. Starting off at 50/50 is a great Segway.

More from us next Wednesday. (very limited Internet so pictures are tough) Hope everyone’s workouts are going well.

Join the movement. Make the pledge.
We are one every day of the year.

Day 262

Soccer Today.  I was able to join a group of the kids that play soccer for the soccer team I help coach during the fall season.  As they prepare for the season, a group of local kids play soccer in the evenings. I wore the 365 t-shirt for the pick-up game and answered a few questions that were asked about the shirt. It was a good workout and a lot of fun to compete with them.

Day 260 split

I have been back in NH for the past week… What a treat it has been!
Today I went for a 12.5 mile bike ride with my husband around the sea coast area. There is nothing like riding along side the ocean. We have started our training for the 2012 Timberman triathlon! More updates on training to come!
