Day 62

Tough bike ride up Mandeville Canyon in Brentwood. Some pretty sweet views as I started cruising my way down. Headed to the gym afterwards to get another leg workout in. Had a run in with a sidewalk pole on my way to lunch. Played it off like it didn’t hurt, that I meant to do it, and that I actually looked cool doing it since I managed to save my Jamba Juice smoothie.Got some PR for We Are One 365 though since someone asked me about my shirt.

Day 59

I biked over to a bike shop in order to get my speedometer up and running. I biked down through Venice and into Marina del Rey then back up to Santa Monica College. I did a series of pelvic/groin strength exercises with a few stretches at the track. Biked back into Brentwood and did 5 500 meter steep hill repeats. 28.5 miles total.

Day 58

I biked over to Beverly Hills High School to meet with Louie. Even though I’m not running, I wanted to still train Louie and watch this kids running career grow. It’s honestly like talking to a 25 year old post grad soul searching kid. He asks me questions about things that I ask my parents about in life. He wants to eat healthier, run a half marathon at the end of this year and learn more about the functions of each muscle. He is 10. Shocking. So I biked next to him while he ran 3.5 miles around the track. We did some dynamic stretches and then I biked home.

Day 57

I biked over to Santa Monica College to see my team during their first Saturday morning workout on the track. They did some fast 800m repeats. Definitely a bitter sweet  moment as I watch them stride through the intervals from the infield. Keeps me motivated to get healthy soon and join them. Biked down to the Venice Beach pier and then back up San Vicente back home. I’ll go for another ride after Syracuse beats Marquette today.
